The State Russian Museum offers in Malaga a wide exhibition of artworks in the old tobacco factory of Málaga (la Tabacalera), adapted to show the artworks collection of the rich Russian artistic heritage.

The State Russian Museum was created in 1895 in St. Petersburg, to show the biggest Russian Art Collection in the world. This collection include more than 400000 artworks, illustrating trends, styles and each period of the Russian Art.
The tobacco factory is a place with more than 2000 square metres, restored as an exhibitions room, and inside it was created the headquarters of the Russian Museum in Western Europe, it is an important international artistic point which gives Málaga a big cultural offer.
Between different services of museum you can enjoy a free audioguide in Spanish, English, Russian and French. In the first floor you will find the store with brochures of the exhibitions, Russian Art and history of art books, merchandising and objects of the collection. In addition, the building is adapted with ramps, lifts and bathrooms.

The collection of the Russian Museum will be closed very monday ( except special days ) and 25th of December and 1st of January. The special days will be 24th and 31st of December, offering a reduced schedule from 9:30 a.m to 3:00 p.m.
People will be able to access to the museum until 30 minutes before the closing.

The Russian Museum of Málaga offers annuals and temporary exhibitions, depending on the collection it can be in exhibition until 6 months.
One of the collections that you can find in 2018 is "Radiante Porvenir. El arte del realismo socialista", a general exhibition of the socialist realism, with variety of styles and ideologies, suggesting spetacularity, account and didacticism. Collections such as " La mirada viajera. Artistas rusos alrededor del mundo", it address historical, mythological and biblical issues until the half of the XIX century.
